It has been raining the last few days, so there is no shortage of water to play in. Archer loves stomping around in the yard in puddles, and we also have a drainage ditch in the neighborhood that is fun to play in. We went down there the other day and took some bath toys that we could race. It was fun.
Yesterday we went to Pearman to let Dixie take a nice run. There was a little bit of water in the stream that runs through the woods. We dopped some sticks and acorns in and watched them get caught in the log jams. Archer used a huge stick to try to free them.

While we were at Pearman we saw a bunch of Sandhill Cranes. There is a large flock that spends Feb. in Kentucky in this area and there are tons that fly over in the fall and spring. They are so cool. I love hearing them.
Maggie would love that drainage ditch! She hasn't gotten too many opportunities to jump in puddles lately b/c it hasn't really rained much. Plus, we live at pretty much the highest point in our neighborhood and water doesn't really puddle up on our street. There was one day when she insisted on wearing her rain boots to the store, and there actually was a puddle in the parking lot. She was so happy!!
