Last Days of Camp and a Visit to Ft. Knox

Well... last week was the last week of the Get Ready Camp.  It was really cool this year and I got tons of good ideas for the boys.  I have already made some games for the "Backpack of Fun".  Last week was sensory week.  We did Touch, Scent, Sight, Hearing and Taste.  The boys really liked the touch and taste days.  On the touch days they painted with shaving cream and pudding and on the taste day they tasted snacks that were sweet, salty or sour.  David got to go with us on the last Friday, which was nice, he got to see what we have been doing all month.  The boys liked it too.

We had a big storm the other night.  It was super windy, we think a small tornado just skirted our neighborhood, and it was really rainy and scary.  Archer had just gone to bed when the storm started and he was a little nervous so he kept his headlamp on.  When we were sure we were in the clear and not going to have to dive into the closet, we went to check on the boys and found Archer like this.

Last Thursday, we went to Ft. Knox to have dinner with David because he was doing a bat survey that night.  Archer was very excited to see the tractors and once we got there, Drake was also very excited to check everything out.  We ate and then went to one of the many playgrounds to play for a while.  When we got home we saw Eli and Lindsay out and played for a long time.  Lindsay was due any day and said that she wasn't feeling too good and contracting.  We found out later that she had the baby the next morning.  Archer was very excited to meet the new baby, Jase.  He is obsessed with babies lately.  We did end up meeting him on Sunday, the day he came home.  I made a fishing game for Eli and a blanket for Jase.  I am also going to make dinner to take over for them.  Lindsay was so sweet when I had Drake and brought us an awesome lasagna.
